Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your Hà Giang loop tour

What should I do upon arrival in Hà Giang?

If you book your bus from Hanoi or Sapa through us, you’ll be dropped off directly at Loop Nomads Hà Giang (45 Đường Lê trần Mãn, Cầu Mè, Hà Giang, 20000, Vietnam).

If your bus arrives at 7:00 AM, 10:00 AM, or 4:00 PM, you’ll enjoy a free pre-tour night at Loop Nomads Hà Giang before starting your adventure.

If you arrange your own transportation, simply ask the bus driver to stop at Loop Nomads Hà Giang. Our reception is open 24/7, so you can check in at any time. You’ll enjoy a complimentary night’s stay, and the tour kicks off around 8:40 AM the next morning.

What should I pack for the tour?

We recommend bringing the following:

  • Warm clothes (especially if you're traveling between October and March)

  • Comfortable trainers for walking and exploring

  • A swimsuit for waterfalls or riverside stops

Raincoats, rain trousers, and protective gear are provided by our team, so no need to bring your own.

Should I bring my suitcase/backpack for the tour?

If you're traveling with large bags or suitcases, you can safely store them at our office for the duration of your tour. We recommend bringing only a small bag with your daily essentials.

Towels, shampoo, conditioner, and other basic items will be provided at all homestays along the way.

Can I change from a 3 day to a 4 day tour once I have started?

Yes, it’s possible to extend your tour on the way! Let your guide know as early as you can so we can make the necessary arrangements.

How can I pay for the tour?

You can pay by cash or card — but please note there's a 3.5% transaction fee for card payments.

If you'd prefer to avoid extra charges, we recommend paying in cash (Vietnamese Dong) when you arrive.

How do I make a reservation and arrange my pickup?

Once your booking is confirmed, please send us the name and address of your hotel in Hanoi (if you're staying there). Our drivers will pick you up directly from your hotel on weekdays (Monday to Friday).

On weekends, due to traffic restrictions in the Old Quarter, pickups may not be possible at your doorstep. In that case, we’ll guide you to the nearest bus office within walking distance to ensure a smooth and easy departure.

What's included in the tour price?

Our tours typically include:

  • Accommodation during the trip

  • All meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner)

  • Motorbike and fuel (or car if selected)

  • An English-speaking guide

  • Entry fees to all attractions

  • Helmets and protective gear

(Details may vary slightly by tour, so please check your tour description or contact us directly.)

Should I tip my easy rider at the end of the tour?

Tipping isn’t required, but it’s always appreciated. If you had a great time, it’s a nice way to thank your easy-rider for their care, stories, and the unforgettable road experience. 500.000vnd-1.000.000vnd is usually appropriate if you are planning to tip your driver.

When does the tour end, and how do I get back to Hanoi?

The tour usually finishes around 5:00 PM on the last day. If you need transportation back to Hanoi or another destination in northern Vietnam, we’ll be happy to help you book a return bus.

Please note that this itinerary is subject to change based on weather conditions, road status, or other circumstances.

Do you have scooters or automatic bikes available?

We offer fully automatic scooters as well as semi-automatic bikes. Whether you’re a beginner or a more experienced rider, we’ll help you choose the most suitable option when you arrive.

What are the international license requirements?

The International Motorcycle Driving Permit Validity in Vietnam
Vietnam recognizes International Driving Permits (IDPs) issued under the 1968 Vietnam Convention on Road Traffic.
If your IDP is issued under the 1949 Convention (common in some countries like the US).....
Vietnam does not officially recognize it, so it’s not legally valid here.

We can rent you a bike if you are comfortable driving, but you will be responsible for any

tickets or fines issued by the police.
